Tim Major is a freelance writer and editor based in York. His love of speculative fiction is the product of a childhood diet of classic Doctor Who episodes and an early encounter with Triffids.
Tim is co-editor of the British Fantasy Society’s fiction journal, BFS Horizons. See here for submission guidelines.
Tim’s first novel, You Don’t Belong Here (Snowbooks, 2016), is a curious mix of time-travel SF and psychological horror. He has also released two novellas: Blighters (Abaddon, 2016), described by Ginger Nuts of Horror as ‘original and uniquely weird fiction’, and Carus & Mitch (Omnium Gatherum, 2015), which was shortlisted for a This Is Horror Award. Tim’s short stories have appeared in Interzone, Not One of Us, The Literary Hatchet and numerous anthologies, including Best of British Science Fiction 2017 and Best Horror of the Year #10, edited by Ellen Datlow.
Tim has three ‘firsts’ due in 2018: ChiZine will publish his first YA novel, Machineries of Mercy, Luna Press will publish his first short story collection, And the House Lights Dim, and Electric Dreamhouse Press will publish his first non-fiction book, a monograph about the silent crime film, Les Vampires.
